Our client, a consultancy in the automotive industry, is presently seeking to fill a Technical Publications Team Lead role. This role will be based with a prestigious automotive manufacturer in the West Midlands, on a permanent basis.
Reporting directly to our client and to the Publications Coordinator, you will join a team who deliver technical publications including user guides, owner manuals, service and repair methods, workshop manuals, illustrated parts catalogues and dealer documentation.
We are looking for someone who has had previous experience in Technical Publications in the Aerospace or Defence industry to join the team and become responsible for coordinating all publications.
Proficient in Microsoft Word (using document templates and styles)Use Microsoft Excel An eye for detail and accuracy in both writing and document formatting and layout Good communication skills with all business levels from Directors to technical subject specialists in all business areas, in a global company Produce documents using a combination of methods from various data sources Strong personal skills, able to work individually and/or within a team Engineering knowledge, able to read and understand technical drawings, engineering processes and liaise with engineering personnel A good understanding of how to behave in a customer-facing environment If you have already had training in S1000D, Simplified Technical English, Adobe Illustrator, XMetaL or other relevant tools, it would be highly beneficial.
Desired but not essential:Simplified Technical English (ASD-STE100) Plain English Using Adobe Acrobat Pro Knowledge of translation processes using external agencies and working with translated documents
ResponsibilitiesOrganize and execute the efficient functioning of publications providing centralised, integrated, pro-active technical data services through coordinating with team leaders. Receive and distribute digital documentation to ensure that accurate documentation is available and appropriately distributed to the team. Archiving of all publications. Coordinate and assist in engineering modification embodiment reporting to the manufacturer.
