Our client is an industry leader in detection technology, providing cargo and vehicle inspection systems and services for ports, borders, military, high-threat facilities, and checkpoints to help customers combat terrorism, drug smuggling, illegal immigration, and trade fraud.
They have an opportunity for a Professional Engineer and Project Manager to take responsibility for the Project Management of Cargo & Vehicle Inspection Systems (CVI) Engineering Projects dealing with all the Engineering disciplines and all aspects of the design process from initial Project Kick-off Meeting to the Product Launch.
RESPONSIBILITIES:Manage the design process after handover of the initial concept from R&D, through the development process, prototype build and eventual product launch. Participate, contribute and review the design to technically influence the product to ensure it is fit for purpose and of the correct quality. Control the specification of the product through Design Review, Validation, Verification meetings. Communicate to Senior Management through Project Reviews, or other means, updates and snapshots of the Project including highlighting issues in a timely manner. Manage the following aspects of the Project: Project plan Product requirements and specification Test procedures and work instructions Product manuals and reports Work with mechanical, electrical, electronic and software engineers to bring the products to production on time and in budget. Ensure the Design and Development procedure outlined in the QMS is adhered to and all relevant documentation and test data is produced, recorded and available for inspection in conjunction with QA/QC Team. Work with the Document Control Team ensuring all BoM’s are prepared and up to date prior to the launch of the product. Liaise with the Manufacturing Engineering Team to provide prototype Engineering Change Notifications to the Engineering team prior to product release. Provide feedback to Sales and Marketing regarding the status and expected delivery of products to the market along with specifications and expected budgets. Salary : £45000 - £50000
